Who? When? Where? (3 1/2 year olds to Kindergarten) - Early Childhood Calendar
Early Childhood meets 18 Sundays from September to April. The children meet at Spalding High School on the first floor. Parents should walk children to the classroom. Class begins at 9 am and parents should pick their children up at 10:15.
The Early Childhood program is designed to help the young child develop a positive self concept. We currently use Our Sunday Visitor: I Am Special. Through stories, music and crafts the child grows in his/her faith. The kindergartener will have an additional book RCL Benziger: Family Life.
Each year our program invites the children to participate in an All Saints Celebration in early November. Open House takes place in early March. This is an event where parents can visit class and see what the children do in class.
St. Bernadette Parish is known for its strong commitment to community outreach. We provide several opportunities for the students to contribute to the parish and larger community. Pennies for Haiti, NCEON collection, and contributions to the Winter Shelter are just a few of our projects
Who? Where? When? (Grade One to Grade Five) - Elementary Calendar
Elementary classes are held at Archbishop Spalding high School on the second floor from September to April. There are 25 75 minutes sessions that begin at 9:00 on Sunday morning.
Elementary students use Pflaum Gospel Weeklies. This source helps the student “break open the word” and covers the Catholic doctrine. The curriculum also includes lessons from RCL Benziger Family Life. This series introduces basic information about human sexuality and values in an age appropriate Catholic context.
- Third, fourth and fifth graders will have a presentation to introduce them to parish ministries that they can join.
- Grade one through five have a special teaching mass in the spring and in thre fall. Children serve in liturgical ministries at the mass. All families that have children in the elementary division are invited to attend.
- Open House is held early in March.

This preparation is done at St. Bernadette in conjunction with faith formation classes. Please contact the faith formation office at 410-969-2786 if you have any question about sacrament preparation.
